Weekend Walk Report: September slides into October

Images from Saturday, September 30th and today, October 1st, 2023. Despite temperatures heading back into the low to mid-90ºs next week, I am so glad summer is technically gone. Docken joined me over cellular service both days. Thank you, Docky!

Saturday, September 30th

It was mostly walking and talking, not a lot of picture taking. The hype was, for several days, rain and thunderstorms. None of that happened for me.

Right out of the car, there was this common raven overhead. I believe this is a male and he was real excited over his breakfast burrito (or whatever it was).

Then there was Dusty and after that I was walking.

Sunday, today, October 1st

Out before dawn for the sunrise. Saturday's sunrise was spectacular and I was hoping for the same today. I think with a lot more density to the lower cloud layer, that kept it from lighting up the sky like it did yesterday. It was beautiful nonetheless and it was a little nippy too with a low of 46º at 7 AM. Sunrise was at 6:48 AM. These shots are in the order they were taken, starting at 6:34 AM.

  1. Nice photos of the early morning sky even if you didn't get rain. We got 0.01" yesterday with lots of thunder rumbles and 0.04" this morning with no rumbling.

  2. Beautiful sky pics. I especially love the one of the morning moon.
