Today's walk report: Yesterday And Today

Today's walk was a lot like yesterday's, without the rain. At least my main photo subject was the same, I took the same path and spent about the same amount of time out and about. Lighting was a little nicer and male Calypte anna hummingbird, Dusty, was more accommodating on the photo front. I would have hung around the garden longer but I felt more inclined to get a walk in. Docken joined me over the phone again too (thank you, Dockie).

Here are some images of Dusty. Roughly the same but people like sameness.

Meanwhile, I got saved from a certain level of redundancy after spotting this giant swallowtail coming into the backyard during the construction of this post. There have been several butterfly photo ops so far today but, for the most part, I was busy with other stuff. Also, there has been a constant onslaught of mosquitos both swarming and somewhat glued to my patio door. I tried asking Google, Why are mosquitoes attracted to my window? I got an answer telling me that mosquitoes are attracted to the smell of carbon dioxide... and blah, blah. blah. I don't think that answer really cuts it. We're talking about a sealed pane of glass. I think... they're watching, waiting and plotting. You know what? Fuck mosquitos and the larva they rode in on.

Here's the butterfly. I went out twice. I'm not going out again.

  1. Your walk reports are beautiful yesterday and today. What a wonderful song. Some of the best Dusty pics I’ve seen. The clarity on the butterfly pics is amazing
