Today's walk report: 012520

78º. Nice.

Nothing really much on the photo front however.

This is one of 3 female Allen's hummingbird's protecting territory in and around this Eucalyptus 'Moon Lagoon'. She was without question the dominant bird.


Shortly after walking up a bazillion stairs to the upper campus a Cooper's hawk came flying right at my face. It was only about 6-7 feet (a couple of meters) from my head as it swooped upwards. Go look at some pictures of a Cooper's hawk if you don't think that would rattle you.

  1. Yikes ! I once witnessed a hawk in my neighborhood grabbing a squirrel and flying away with his prey. Not pretty...
