Today's walk report: 031019

Okay, this is really yesterday's walk report. I got the pictures ready and then lost interest yesterday afternoon.

It was a gorgeous morning for the walk but by 5:20 PM we had a downpour which started with some hail. Anyway on to the photos...

Yes, Rusty G. Alpha was hanging out.

I think it was just cold enough to put some bees in slow motion, like this one seemingly resting on this blue (not blue) hibiscus (not a hibiscus) flower.

The biggest show was from several Vanessa Cardui butterflies.

  1. There's reportedly an unexpectedly large and early swarm of painted ladies in the area right now due to the combination of overpopulation in Mexico (requiring dispersal) and the flurry of rainstorms here. LAist dot com has an article on the subject.

  2. Those butterflies are gorgeous . Rusty , as always, is dashing and virile. Are you guys freaked about that thing called rain that you’ve barely seen in your lives ? 😎
