Today's walk report: 082313

Wings... three different kinds.

Gulf Fritillary (Agraulis vanillae). Typically I have a real hard time finding one that will stay out of reeds and still long enough to get a picture. This one was very cooperative. It may have been laying eggs or preparing to. I took 58 pictures with 2 lenses so that's a really calm butterfly.

it also never opened its wings once.

(180mm with a Canon 500D closeup lens)

and look who was back. I, in fact, may have found its nest.

It was probably perched here watching me for a considerable amount of time before I saw it. From the time data on my images I'd say 15 minutes.

followed me around...

like a puppy dog, I tell ya...

Last wings, far off in the distance...
